hi friends i want to know that why it is not possible to assign access sequence at header level
Hi,
Access sequence is a search strategy.R/3 System uses to find valid data(condition record) for condition type in condition tables.Automatic pricing does not
take header condition into account and you can not create condition records for them.
Header conditions are entered manually only and valid for all items in sales order.
Hence it is not possible to assign access sequence.
thanks,

Abhi,
We maintain access sequence for automatic condition types..
Header conditions are entered manually only and valid for all items in sales order.
Hence it is not possible to assign access sequence.
REWARD IF U FINDS THIS AS USEFUL...

hi abhi,
its not a wriiten rule that accss sequeces have to be header or item level. it depands totally on the entity for which the seq is being created - pricing, o/p etc. in case of pricing its item level as each line item in hte sales order may differ and may be required to have the pricing determined on a separate basis. but for o/p you need to have a single o/p for the entire doc and so the acc seq is maintained on the heasder level.

The very main purpose of the access sequence is to search for a condition record.
as we enter the value for a header condition manually we dont need to maintain a condition record and hence no access sequence.
thank you

This basic eg should clarify things to you:
Suppose you have more than 1 item in a sales order say 10 items. On what basis you will make a access sequence which will be applicable to these items(normally if you see, we maintain price for each material in acces sequence) . And remember the items are not constant in a slaes order. So in the same sales order you will have different items.
Thats why you have to assign the header condition manually and once you assign it, it will be applicable for all the line items.
hope this clarifies.
thanks
