hi experts,

i wannna ask tht there is customer account group in which we can modify customer master related tabs..so in sap is there any process to change material master data..? like supreess n all.....

Yes like customer master there is provision to for field selection of material master also.

1. IMG - Logistics general - Material Master - Field selection - <b>Assign fields to field selection group</b>. Here you assign a particular field to a <b>field selection group</b> which you can create new as per your requirment. <b>Field selection group</b> - Say in <b>Basic Data 1</b> screen you have a section for <b>"general data"</b>. Here general data will be a <b>field selection group</b>.

2. IMG - Logistics general - Material Master - Field selection - <b>Maintain Field Selection for Data Screens</b>. Here select a particular field selection group. The system will show you the fields that are assigned to it. <b>Double click</b> on the field and the system will take you to a screen where you can select for which selection group that field should be <b>"hidden", "displayed", "required entry" & "optional"</b>.

Now go back to the previous screen and down you will see <b>"Field reference"</b>. It can be like <b>"material type"</b> or the <b>"transaction code like MM01/MM02/MM03"</b>. For this also you can control the field selection by clicking on <b>"hide", "display", "reqd. entry" & "optional"</b>.

<b>SAVE</b> the settings.

3. Now go to the material master and check for the new field selections.
