HI,
which system is better making the TDC among DEV and PRD
what are the advantages and disadvantages of
making the DEVELOPMENT system as the TDC
and PRODUCTION system as the TDC
anybody do favour in this aspect
thanks in advance
Hi Subbu,
Actually any system is OK for TDC.
But may be this can give you some idea if you use DEV as TDC:
1. All the development and change requests are created from DEV
2. Not all the request create in Development will goto Production
And here if PRD as TDC:
1. Production system normally more stable than DEV (the hardware) so is less risk
2. If you use UNIX than you can ovoid "NFS stale" due to Developmen restart if you put the TDC in Dev.
So the decision is your.
For me I normally choice DEV as TDC

Usually the system which has higher availability should be the TDC....can be any system....even if u select DEV as the TDC ...and u hav a feeling that DEV is not the system with the higher availability then PRD...u can select PRD as the backup TDC...so in case DEV remains down PRD will become the TDC..
hi,
It depends on your choice ,and the available resources,
obviously the storage capacity of PRD server is much higher than DEV.
they key thing to notice is there should not any bottle neck.

SM
