shipment per delivery process

Hi,

We create a lot of deliveries which need only one shipment.

Process we have:

1 Create shipments (create one shipment per delivery function).

2 Result : 90 shipments with 90 deliveries.

3 We have make to order sending storage location, so we have to print picklist

for only these shipments

4) pick the deliveries

5) confirm the deliveries

6) change shipment again when we use pallets (HU).

7) print and create idoc per shipment (custom program)

😎 GI per shipment.

How can we make this process more simple?

What we have:

1) storagelocation with all products ready to send to end customer

2) need to pick these from the storagelocation

3) need sometimes to use a pallet

4) Print (paper and idoc)

5) GI.

What is the best flow, I looked on this forum, but could not find a flow.

Can somebody help me with the flow (not with the shipment itself!).

Thank you,

Eric

Hi Eric

Before answering your question I require some more information:

1. Do you create 90 deliveries for 90 different customers ?

2. What do you mean by we create lot of deliveries which need only one shipment? Is it that multiple deliveries are clubbed one one shipment document ?

3. Do you mfg only make-to-order or other products mfg strategies as well?

4. how many type of HU do u use and what packing process is followed?

Hi Nikhil,

1) Yes

2) Relation between shipment and delivery is 1:1

3) no only make to order

4) At hupast the material xyz is packed in a carton box

This HU (material and carton box) is posted in the shipping Storagelocation

After picking 2 boxes in one delivery could be placed on 1 pallet (also HU).

Total level of HU is 2, not more.

Background :

We create 1 shipment per day for a continent. Many deliverys are collected. Shipments process works fine for us.

Every day we creat also shipments for local customers (EU). These local customer get there carton box also by shipments. because we communicate

with the transports by shipments. And we think it is better to communicate on one level. In our case on shipment level.

Thank you for your quick reply!

Hope my answers are ok.

Eric.

Hi Eric

As per the business process mentioned by you I can guage the following work process currently followed at your end: (confirm me the process i have enlisted so that appropriate suggestions can be given)

1. You get a Customer Order. (make-to-order : is it a assemble -to-order?)

2. You execute the order and commit a certain delivery date for customers.

3. On a particular delivery date , you must be doing a <b>Collective processing</b> of all the due orders.Since the shp-to-party of each customer is different the delivery will be split and would follow a ratio of 1:1 with customer.

4. You must be having a warehouse concept where you must be creating Automatic transfer orde5.rs.(automatic picking)

5. In your case , Material in your storage location is handled using handling units.

6. So system determines which handling units to be used while picking.

(is this a manual process?)

7. You have maintained a muli level packaging process . Carton -> Pallet

(is this a manual process?)

8. You carry out the Goods issue for the entire shipment along with handling units.

9. Track the shipment with your transporters

10. You send out all the 90 deliveries to 90 customers in one shipment ie for eg in one container.

> we don't use automatic transfer orders.

Flow is: production creates material. Confirmation of production order with MIgo

gr for production order. Result: inbound delivery. With this inbound delivery we use

packing (hupast). After hupast the packed material goes into HU storagelocation and wait there for shipment to customer.

5. In your case , Material in your storage location is handled using handling units.

6. So system determines which handling units to be used while picking.
