Profile Parameters

Hi All,

How to know which profile parameter requires restart the whole system and which only needs restart of SAP. Also, which doesnt need to both the activities?

Hello Vikram,

All parameters that you can see in table <b>TPFYPROPTY</b> are dynamic parameters and does not require a restart.

Hello Vikram,

The parameter which you want to retain permanently on the landscape are edited using RZ10. To reflect them on the landscape you need to restart the instance.

If you want some parameter for time being are edited using RZ11. These parameters are retained at the specified value till its restarted.

Yes ofcourse you can edit parameters which you want to retain at OS level by accessing the profiles at \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\profiles

Hi Vikram,

The Parameters which you can change in RZ11 doesnot require system restart and other parameters require system restart.

Just a precision :

You know that a paramter is changeable with RZ11 when the "DynamicallySwitchable" check box is checked.
