How to set up SSO from XI to SAP R3

Is it possible to setup SSO from XI ABAP Stack to SAP R3? If so does anyone have any documentation as to how to do this??

I think you want to look at SNC (secure network connection). I believe this is how it's done, but no first hand experience.
