Dear all,
We are doing copy control for Sales order type to Delivery type with item Categoy then why we are doing again item category determination for delivery?
Pls Clarify.
Regards
Jayesh
Hi Jayesh,
We do item category determination first then copy control comes into play.
Item category in delivery controls picking, storage location, batch determination etc as per the configuration maintained in OVLP.
Item category determination in delivery is done to pick item category as per delivery type.
Now copy control determines how data from sales order item category flows to delivery item category.
Also item category in sales order behaves differently then the item category in delivery.
You can check the differnce in OVLP(delivery item category) and VOV7(sales order item category)

Hi Patel,
In the copy controls we only tell the system which data must flow from the sales document to delivery document with help of various routines. Eg) The ship to party goes to the header level, the material and quantity goes to the item level. Here we do not tell the system that the item category TAN in the sales order should be TAN in the delivery document. The item category in the documents are identified using the item category determination.

Hi,
First Item Category is determined and based on that when you reference a document with previous one, copy control is carried out. I hope you got my point, first is Item Category determination, then copy controls based on Item Category.
