Hi to all!
I have next problem: the error 'Failed to set permissions for domain' appears when 'Save' button is pressed in Visual Administrator tool in 'SLD Data Supplier -> CIM Client Generation Settings' tab.
I have administrative rights in Visual Admninistrator.
What I need to do to save my settings?
It's needed for estabilish connection between the J2EE AS and SLD service.
This step required for using RFC adaptive model in Web Dynpro applications (for access to R/3 & functional models calling).
Help me to resolve this issue,
Thanx!
Hi,
try to connect to the SLD with the userID and password.
Ex: http://<SLDHostName>:<Port>/sld

Hello Rohit,
I am facing the same error when i am trying to same in the visual admin. i have carried out all the steps as mentioned by you in the above steps. But still i am getting the same error. But i continued with the ADS configuration. But in the web services part in Visual Admin, the SLD values are not getting updated even after the server is started. I guess, it is due to this SLD settings that we are facing this problem. Can you help us on this ?

Ranu
Hi,
ensure that you have gone through the following steps
1)Go to : http://<host>:<port>/sld
login as administrator
2)Click on administration and it will take you to SLD server
3)choose Start server and when the server is up choose stop server
4)Go to server settings and make the entries for object server(localhost) and the working directory
5)Choose database persistance and enter the relevent info for the ABAP system and choose 'set'
6)Start data supplier bridge.Start SLD server also .Then go for importing the CIM instances
Hope this helps you. Please dont forget to give points if it really helps.

Rohit

Hi Michail,
please check by logging on to your SLD (http://host:port/sld) the following:
1. whether the SLD server is started or not.
2. From the Home page also check whether theData Supplier Bridge is started or not. You can click on Data Supplier Bridge in the Home Page of SLD to check this.
These needs to be started for having any communication between the J2EE Engine and the SLD.

Hi Michail,
Have you imported the CIM instances from
<server>\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\SYS\global\sld\model\<filename>.zip (MS Windows) and then choose Open.
You have to import Cimsap.zip and cr_content.zip (MS Windows).
You should also fill the host name= local host port = 50000
user name and password
Regards
Rohit
