XI is a like many others Middlewares, but it suits well for connecting SAP systems like ERP, CRM with each other and with non-SAP

SAP provides XI content which can make your integrations very easy .

SAP XI provides an integrated workflow engine that allows to define adapters to non-XML-protocols and mappings to convert data content from source to target.
