I'm currently working on a project to implement a solution where we store an image in Filenet P8, and then use SAP ArchiveLink to connect that image to an invoice.
We are currently on SAP ArchiveLink 3.1. I've been looking into upgrading to ArchiveLink 4.5. I've also been talking with our P8 support team about the "Application Connector for SAP R/3, J2EE Edition Version 2.1" that IBM sells.
My P8 support team believes that we need to purchase this adapter in order for SAP archiveLink to communicate with P8. Because of this I have the 3 following questions:
1) Is that true? Do I need to purchase the P8 adapter?
2) Will upgrading to 4.5 allow us to communicate to P8 without the adapter?
3) Or finally, is no change required?
Hi.
1) Is that true? Do I need to purchase the P8 adapter?
Yes you have to buy this adapter. the sap systems communicates via archive link with acsap.
2) Will upgrading to 4.5 allow us to communicate to P8 without the adapter?
NO, sorry.
3) Or finally, is no change required?

Yes, you need AC SAP for connection between SAP and P8 Content Engine.
you can't connect FileNet P8 CE to SAP without AC SAP.
