Just look into
usr\sap\<sid>\<instancename>\work\dev_w0 trace file.
Search for pid 3312, and the area where the error trigger. From there, you should know the reason why it failed.
cheers,
Vincent

Hi dinesh,
the problem shows in your dev_w0 trace file is due to db_connect problem, which means your DB connect is having problem.
Try issue command
R3trans -dx
you shall have unsuccessful return code. Check out the trans.log that generated in current directory for more information.
I see Oracle error ORA-01033.
ERROR => CONNECT failed with sql error '1033'

M *** ERROR => ThInit: db_connect (step 1, th_errno 13, action 3, level 1) [thxxhead.c 10283]
Possible reason:
1.Database is not open. Please check the alert log at the time of
R3trans to make sure that database is open
2.Please refer SAP note 655240 - Composite SAP note: ORA-01033
3. check your oracle env setting, listener, oracle client, etc
hope this helps.
cheers,
Vincent
Hello Pl refer to the following note in this connexion
Note 655240 - Composite SAP note: ORA-01033
Before that pl check whether the environment variables are set correctly or not.
Shut down the database and restart it and see.
for this first shut down sap.
in cmd prompt execute the following commands and note the errors
sqlplus/nolog
conn /as sysdba;
shutdown immediate;
startup open;

AND IF POSSIBLE CAN U TEL ME THE SOLUTION AS HOW TO RECTIFY THIS
ACTUALY WHAT HAPPENED IS, I GOT INSTALLED SAP ECC6 WITHOUT DUALBOOT (WINXP IN ONE HDD AND WIN2003 SERVER IN OTHER HDD) AFTER INSTALLING SAP IN ONE 160GB HDD I MADE THE SYSTEM DUAL BOOT, I MEAN I CHANGED THE BOOT.INI IN BOTH THE OS.(C:\WINDOWS\BOOT.INI) AND I MADE ENABLE THE DUALBOOT (2HDD WINXP AND WIN2003SERVER) BUT AFTER ENABLING DUALBOOT THE SAP STATRED GIVING ERROR THAT IS disp+work.exe is starting and becoming green and after 4-5 mins it wil stop automatically.
IS THIS BECAUSE OF DUAL BOOT OR BECAUSE OF SOME OTHER ERROR.
PLEASE HOW TO RECTIFY THE ERROR
I M NOT A SAP BASIS GUY
I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT INSTALLATION OF SAP

Hi Dinesh,
Make sure that the following variables are set in the environment of the failed process:
dbms_type=ora
PATH=<oracle_home>\bin;... (<oracle_home>\bin in first position)
dbs_ora_tnsname=<sid>
dbs_ora_schema=SAPR3 or dbs_ora_schema=SAP<sid> (depending on which user the R/3 tables belong to)
NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.<characterset> (see Note 381674)
ORACLE_HOME=<oracle_home> (optional)
SAPDATA_HOME=<drive>:\oracle\<sid>
TNS_ADMIN=<pfad_zu_tns_files> (only required for R/3 below 3.1I or Oracle 10g and Instant Client)
ORACLE_SID=<sid> (normal Oracle installation) or unique instance name, for example <sid>001 (RAC installation)
USER=<sid>adm
While starting sap be sure you r logged in as user <sid>adm such as ec6adm in your case.
Stop sap, stop oracle, make all oracle and sap services to start manually instead of being started automatically. Shut down , restart.
Start oracle manually as described earlier, Once oracle is started successfully start sap services and start sap.
Let me know what happens.
Regards
Hi, To set environment variables in XP right click on My Computer--
Normally the following env variables are required to be set.
o dbms_type=ora
o PATH=<oracle_home>\bin;... (<oracle_home>\bin in first position)
o dbs_ora_tnsname=<sid>
o dbs_ora_schema=SAPR3 or dbs_ora_schema=SAP<sid> (depending on which
user the R/3 tables belong to)
o NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.<characterset> (see Note 381674)
o ORACLE_HOME=<oracle_home> (optional)
o SAPDATA_HOME=<drive>:\oracle\<sid>
o TNS_ADMIN=<pfad_zu_tns_files> (only required for R/3 below 3.1I or
Oracle 10g and Instant Client)
o ORACLE_SID=<sid> (normal Oracle installation) or unique instance
name, for example <sid>001 (RAC installation)
o USER=<sid>adm
set JAVA_HOME
set PATH to the bin directory of JAVA_HOME
The above is an extract of SAP Note 556232 - Environment settings for R/3/Oracle on Windows.
Pl refer the same for details.
Award suitably if resolved.

Hi,
You need to include the trace file for the individual work processes as well to see why they died. Select the largest one for a start, will have the most info in.
