Hi George,

You don't have to extract the IDES data.

SAPINST will do it during installation. It will extract data from export DVDS to oracle database: ( sapdata dirs) .

Check the installation guides at

http://service.sap.com/instguides

for ECC 5.0. Everything what you need is explained there in detail.

hi tiwari,

i am trying to install SAP IEDS ecc 5

CI and DB is seperately.

Thank you for your replay.

Hi George,

For ECC 5.0, you have to install CI instance first then database instance then dialog instance.

For ECC 6.0 CI and DB will be in one shot. Initial reply was for ECC 6.0.

During Database instance it will ask you for Export DVDS.

Hi gurus, i am trying to install SAP IDES ecc 5.0.

I have installed Oracle RDBMS and i have created an instance IOU.

After that i created the centrall instance IOU and now i am trying to install Database instance IOU. Did i follow the right order on installation?

do i need to istall the Oracle RDBMS and instance IOU first , as i did?

I am receiving an error FLS 02007 about permissions on TNSLISTNER.ora.

Thank you.

George.

Apparently you didn´t read the documentation.

The database is created during the installation via sapinst, do NOT create one manually.

hi markus thank you for your replay.

if i don't install the RDBMS i am receiving an error during CI and Database Inst installation.

Are you on Windows? If yes, it´s correct to install the database software but do NOT create a database.

Check the installation guide for exact steps that have to be done in what sequence.

Apparently your database crashed, check the Oracle alert log.

What database version are you using? using the newest patchlevels?

Hi Markus thank you very much ,

i am using Oracle Version which is incuded

in SAP IDES ECC 5 DVDs.

I think it is ORACLE 9i.

Do you suggest me to install the Patches which are incuded

in SAP IDES ECC 5 DVDs?

George, you are trying to install a SAP system and apparently you have no clue which version of the database you are using?

I suggest you start with the basics first, go to http://tahiti.oracle.com and do the 2 day DBA course for the version of your database before you try to install a SAP system. If you don´t know how a database is working it will be very frustrating and each error will drive your nuts.

Installing a SAP system is not installing Microsoft Office via setup.exe - next - next - finish. You need some background first...

Not blaming you but get familiar with Oracle first.

Unfortunatelly my previous experience is on Microsoft SQL SERVER but as i can

understand i have to use Oracle RDBMS to install SAPIDES.

I Can understand the logic of the installation but i don't know Oracle Systems.

The Version is something easy to find ( it is written during installation ) and i have installed the RDBMS.

Thank you for your reply.

Oracle is MUCH MORE complicated than SQL server.

ECC 5.0 IDES is also available on SQL Server, you can download the CDs from the service marketplace.

as i can see during installation the process stops but in the corresponding log files

there are no errors.

I solved the problem by switch off user and logon on again , after that i pressed retry to the SAPINST and the process continued.

Thank you very much.

during loading phase i am receiving the following errors in SAPSLEXC file.

DbSl Trace: ORA-3113 occured when executing SQL statement (parse error offset = 0)

(IMP) ERROR: DbSlExeModify/DbSlLobPutPiece failed

rc = 99, table "D346T"

(SQL error 3113)

error message returned by DbSl:

ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

(DB) INFO: disconnected from DB

C:\usr\sap\IOU\SYS\exe\run/R3load.exe: job finished with 1 error(s)

C:\usr\sap\IOU\SYS\exe\run/R3load.exe: END OF LOG: 20070820033304

i think that the name of the corresponding table is not the same everytime i choose retry

to the installer

any ideas?

Thank you very much.

> i formatted the host machine installed <b>XP</b> , Oracle , CI and DB again.

you're trying to install <b>IDES on winxp</b>? well, this operating system is NOT supported get <b>windows 2003 server</b> and try again..

-> install os

-> install oracel rdbms as described in the sap installation doc

-> install central instance using sapinst

-> install database instance using sapinst

-> perform post-installation steps as described in the sap installation doc

thank you for your replay,

i believe the there is not a problem on operation system , because i am in the phase

of loading data to tables. There is only one r3load process that is not running successfull,

the rest 13 process finished without errors.

As i can see in log file the error occured in different database table each time.

Maybe i am wrong , which is your opinion?

Best Regards

George.
