Error in Language Import

Former Member

Hello All,

I am inporting a new language (FRENCH) using SMLT IN ECC 6.0 Machine. Here by i gave the steps i have did....

1. Used TCODE I18N to define the language.

2. Classified the language in SMLT.

3. Supplementry language is ENglish and Secondary is German

4. Trying to import language from DVD number 51031800_1

5. After starting the import i face the error "Could not create cofile"

I have changed the parameters NBUFFORM and TP_VERSION to local one (Not global) also changed the value to 282 but still the error occurs. After changing if i distribute the configuration the file is generated again and replaced with old values. Is there any other factors to be taken into account to make this language import successfull?

Thanks in advance

regards,

Madhu

Hello Madhu (sorry for misspelling your name in the last post),

in transaction SMLT when you go on the 'import language' button, on the popup there is a button with settings. Mark the 'Regenerate Data Files and Cofiles' box and try it again.

Or: perhaps the language package was already unpacked in the directory cofiles/data and cannot be overwritten because of permissions.

Hello Michael,

Thanks for ur time and reply.

Yes enough privilages was assigned to the user for accessing the directory. Any other option?

Hello Nadhu,

can you post the action log and the transport logs which can be found in transaction SMLT?

Hello Madhu,

a very simple approach:

Are the permissions right for the directory:

/usr/sap/trans/cofiles

/usr/sap/trans/data (LINUX)

C:\usr\sap\trans\cofiles

C:\usr\sap\trans\data (WIN)?

Is there enough space left on the device where the directory resides?
