Environment variable SECUDIR under windows

Dear,

we have install the crypto lib due to installation guide

in the sap online help. There it says to put the

environment variable SECUDIR in the registry for window

operting system.

We create a new entry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->SAP-><SID>->Environment.

When starting the whole sap system with mmc the registry

entry is deleted. We try many times and each time the

entry is deleted.

If we check the icm trace file there is a warning that

the envoronment variable SECUDIR does not set.

Does somebody face this problem? Is it correct to set this

variable in the registry of window like stated in the online help or should it set somewhere else?

Hi,

Put that entry as an evironment variable, just like the environment variable PATH.

That should do the job.

Hi Siddhesh,

thanks for your info. The online help also mention the

posibility to set as a normal environment variabel. But

it says that when put it as normal environment variable

there is an disadvantage. The varialbe is not seen in

the whole system but just for process context.

Therefore sap recomend to set as windows registry. I will

try to follow your advise and test it. But if you have

time read the sap docu again to see if i say it correct.

SECUDIR is generally in DVEBMGS00/sec in the central instance, on UNIX where we don't have registry and other stuff that you have in Windows.

So environment variable is something one needs to use.

Dear,

thanks for help. I create a environment variable in the systm controll under windows. Now it works fine an the

trace don't show a warning anymore.

It is not need to create this parameter in the registry

of windows.
