Dear all,
We are planning to archive a huge table, which is currently 65G. Our initiative plan of each archiving session will archive about data of 10G. We currently set file size as 100M. We are not sure if this size is appropriate. Can anyone give us suggestion about it? Thank you.
Dear Martin,
One cannot estimate the size of an archive file created after archiving data from an archiving object.
However out of my experience I can suggest that a size of 500 MB would be good size to start off the archiving.
Regards
Amit

Hi Martin,
The file size setting of max 100 MB is perfectly fine. There is no need to make it higher than 100 MB. If you archive about 10G of data the size of the data in archive will be about 4G or less since data is compressed by ADK during archiving. Since the delete job run in parallel if you have more archive files then you have a possibility of running more delete jobs hence the delete job data should be faster.
Hope this helps
Cheers!
