ABAP Mapping

what is abap mapping? whats its use in XI and features of abap mapping? please its urgent.

Consider the following when using ABAP Mappings:

- need special treatment within the transport-process, as they are not located within the PI-Repository

- can probably not be used within Integrated Configuration Objects, or at least it does not make sense to use them there (ICOs are a PI 7.1-Feature, they enable Adapter-Engine-Internal processing, which results in strong performance-improvements)

- restricted to one active version on a PI-installation (example: if one PI-Installation connects Business-systems out of the development-stage and consolidaton-stage at the same time, then you can not have different versions of the ABAP-Mapping for the two stages; with all other Mapping-technologies, you can do this)

- no access to Value-Mapping-tables

ABAP mapping is one of the type of mapping that you can utilize in XI other than the graphical (message), XSLT and JAVA.
