Hi All,
Once I finished installing IDES SCM5.0 (as well as liveCache, Optimizer...), and create RFC destinations for optimizer, and use lc10 to create LCA, LDA, and LEA integreation.
How do I initilize liveCache for the first time?
Please help.
Thank you for your time and sharing your experience.

Hello All,
1)
In the Operating user menu, TA /nLC10, you can, among other things, initialize a liveCache database instance.
For SAP liveCache documentation in English < See the SAP note 767598 >:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/f2/0271f49770f0498d32844fc0283645/frameset.htm
-> Database Administration in CCMS: SAP liveCache Technology -> liveCache Assistant
-> liveCache: Monitoring -> Administration -> liveCache Operating -> initialize the liveCache
2)
Please review the SAP note 640107 for more details.
3)
As it was written in the liveCache installation guide "
After the liveCache will be installed and updated to last available build,
service.sap.com/liveCache -> Release Information -> SAP LC/LCAPPS 5.0 - SAP liveCache technology 7.6
You need to follow the 'Common Post-Installation Activities' from the guide
"Installation - SAP liveCache Technology on <WIN/UNIX> - NW 7.0 SR2 ", the section
" 5.1.1 Setting Up the Connection to the liveCache Instance" will list the steps
to run first & directions how to initialize the liveCache instance using transaction LC10.
And if you still have any unclear liveCache related questions/problems I recommend you to create the OSS ticket to the component 'BC-DB-LCA' or 'BC-DB-LVC'.

If you have further questions/problems with liveCache/MAXDB please post at

Hi Elizabeth,
For initialization of livecache:
go to lc10>connection name->Tools--->database manager:
then execute exec_lcinit command.
But if you initialize livecache, all transactional data and planning version will be lost.
But if it is a freshly installed system, I guess you can do it.

Tushar

in LC10..>> livecache monitoring>> Administration>> operating -
you will see Green lights against operation state
if this is red then hit the start livecache button...

Hello Elizabeth -
Look at the installation guides on service.sap.com for how to initialize the livecache. also you need to perform the last steps that are there in the end of the installation where in the other infoobjects are activated otherwise you will get an error in regards to PLOB not initialized or as such.
Here is the name of the installation guide.
Installation - SAP liveCache Technology on Win - NW 7.0 SR2
hope this helps.
