Hi,
I want to move F:\oracle\SBX\sapdata1\sbx640_1\SBX640.DATA1 file to C:\.
because there is no space in F drive.
Shall I cut & paste the file or I need to use the brspace command to move the datafile.
What is the command to move this data file from F:\ to C:\?
Please suggest the proper solution for this.
Regards,
Rajesh
there are different ways to move or rename datafiles. You can move your datafiles with the database open or with the database shut down. I prefer the option with the database shut down, of course if it is possible to have it shut down.
The exact steps you can see in the SAP Note 868750 - How to relocate/rename or
in the Oracle Note: Note:115424.1 How to Rename or Move Datafiles and Logfiles
Please make a backup before performing these steps.

You can use also oracle ways to move data files. See the SAP note 868750 - How to relocate/rename a datafile
With brtools you should use the option dfmove with brspace.
