i recently faced one intw question i.e
what is TAN stands for... i mean abbrevation. like NMS, TANN, CD, SDF , KMN stands for ? i am not asking why TAN is or why NMS is ? ok
For example CMIR means customer material info record like i need answer .

you are referring to item categories defined by SAP.
These item categories are either 3-digit or 4-digit.
The first two digit refer to the sales order type and
the next two refer to item category group or item usage.(use of item category)
Eg: TAN => TA --> Sales order type , N --->Item category group NORM
TA is an older version name of sales order type OR.
These keys can be defined as per your cutomized sales order types.
