TESTDRIVE N4S. openSuSE 10.2 x64. Connection Problems.

Hi all,

after nights of searching, I can not find any solution to my Problem:

I can not connect to my installed, working N4S - Server!

I have a standard installation of openSuSE 10.2 with Java 1.4.2 and Gnome.

After that I installed the N4S - Server from a (self burned, but MD5 checked) DVD.

The installation was successful, without any problems.

after that I started the data base to get my Hardware-Key.

With that Key I ordered a temp - license from SAP, which arrived as a .txt - file.

that was the first time I was wondering, but went on.

I started the Server with "startsap n4shost" and it did ( with no error ).

Here is the LOG:

n4shost:n4sadm 38> startsap n4shost

Now I installed the PlatinGui 700r5 as root (downloaded from the SAP-FTP-Server).

now, when I type

/opt/SAPClients/SAPGUI7.00rev5/bin/guistart /H/n4shost/S/3200

I see a status bar, which is filling itself up to half and there it stops. No Errors in console (or any log-file I found), no messages, nothing. it is just there, doing nothing.

What is that, why is that?

After some searching I read the index.hmtl on the DVD again and found that I should have installed JDK 1.4.2 for SAP Customers. But the Links points to a Side on IBM, where is a notice to read SAP Note 1090932 "IBM download site for special JDK builds" for details. But I don't have a account to read in the market place nor have I a running R3 System. So I have no chance of reading this note (after all I found on Google).

Im totally devastated.

can anyone please help me?

big thanks for any suggestion!

Greets

hello markus,

try this:

/opt/SAPClients/SAPGUI7.00rev5/bin/guistart /H/n4shost/S/320<u>1</u>

you can check the instance-number parallel.

/usr/sap/N4S/DVEBMGS0<u>1</u> - what number has the last didgit.

i have an installation from sap-shop dvd-number 50077574 on sles10 sp1 2.6.16.53-0.8-smp with included IBM JDK 1.4.2 entered in yast. i have not use the download from ibm - link! that is not required.

i miss the libsapcrypto.so in cdexe? do you have any idea?

greetings christoph

Hi..

Thx for your suggestions, but I have to tell you: my System log is fine.. no errors anywhere.

I just needed the SDK Package from IBM.

After I installed that it took about 1 minute to start my GUI, but at least it did!

I found the package at the download section.

BTW:

It is not the best Idea, to hide all Information about TESTDRIVES in SAP Notes...

is there any possibility to get an access to the SAP market Place with just a testdrive running?

the solution is in startup-log

Starting SAP Instance DVEBMGS01

-

Startup-Log is written to /home/n4sadm/startsap_DVEBMGS01.log

Instance Service on host SuSE started

Instance on host SuSE started

Check if your system really got up, check the files dev_disp and dev_w0 for errors relating to the startup, if in doubts, post the content of dev_w0 here.

You right, you need an access code for the IBM JDK...
