RFC Destination

I am using SM59 to create a RFC Destination the problem I have is that I don't see the Registered Server option and neither do I see the Program ID when I try to create a RFC destination.

Another question is

Should we have a R3 type of connection or a TCP/IP type of connection for XI. When should either one of these should be used.

Hi,

If you go to use a Sender RFC you must put primary in Sender RFC channel Progam ID, the name if you like more, and later configure the conexion in sm59 with this name.

Regards.

Sonia,

when R3 is sender to Xi, go for TCP /IP..

n after creating the connection, give the ip adres and hostname and later u wud get the option of regsitered server program.

give the same name as in ur channel of RFC. (case sensitive)

activate the channel and test the connection.i it wud work fine.

when ur sending the dat from Xi to R3, type 3 would b the connection type and here u dont get the option of Registered server program, rather u hav to giv the gateway host and server..

regards,

For this question: Should we have a R3 type of connection or a TCP/IP type of connection for XI. When should either one of these should be used.

In mi case, i think the connections are:

R3 type of connection: for receiver rfc

TCP/IP: For sender rfc
