Turning off Compression

Can somebody told me how to turn compression off ?

Hi Hari,

Thanks for your respond. In the pop up message there is no button yes/no. I manage to disable the compression by adding user variables in the environtment variables TDW_NOCOMPRESSION and the value i set to 1. Do you have other way to hide the pop up ? and do you now how to disable compression on Linux SAP client ?

Thank for your update. I guess this is the best way to do it, when it comes to Lynux follow the same procedure.

Hi Hari,

After i turned off the compression on the client SAP application. the pop up window come out. it said " Environment information: data compression switched off ". Do you know how to hide this pop up window ?

You try to choose/click yes, it should not pop up every time.

thanks for your respond. the compression here is for client server SAP R3 application.

How to turn off the compression/encryption in the client SAP R3 application or do i have to turn off the compression/encryption in the server also?

Hi Ronny,

Turn it off in the client side first, it should be ok no need on serverside.

Hi Ronny,

Can you make it clear? which compression?. If it's backup related tou can change with BRTOOLS or in INIT<SID>.SAP file.
