Party definition

When do you decide whether a given configuration requires Party based services or not. I've been using this object based on my own common sense. For instance, for EDI related communication which uses KU/LI partner types.

Can one of you explain the need / definition of this object.

Thank you,

You use parties when you do not want to create Business Systems, Tech Systems in your SLD.

Having communication using parties makes more sense when your company say for example is trading with multiple vendors like A, B and C etc which are parties.

Party-less scenarios come into play when you interact with 3 stage systems i.e Dev/it/prd defined in SLD and that have dependancy on a given technical system.

Again, this is my perspective and you should see what is the best fit for your situation.

Thanks
