Hi,

Delivery group means the items in this <b>BOM</b> can be delivered at a time and not part by part. In <b>"VOV7"</b> when you select <b>"TAQ"</b> in that in the <b>"create delivery group"</b> when you select <b>"X" - form delivery groupwith one delivery date</b>. In this case when you want to deliver the<b> BOM</b> and if any single item is not ready then the system won't allow you to create the delivery. <b>What the system will do is it will determine the latest delivery date on which the single item will be ready for despatch.</b>

<b>Suppose:</b>

In the BOM you have 3 items "A", "B", "C". Items "A" & "B" are ready today and item "C" will only be ready on 25/09/2007. The system will determine the delivery date for the BOM as 25/09/2007 only.

If you have removed the entry in the delivery group field in <b>TAQ</b> then the system will allow you to create the sales order and deliver the items part by part which is generally not best practice. For eg: a computer you would want to sell completely that is <b>CPU + MONITOR + KEYBOARD & MOUSE</b>. The customer will not be happy if he/she gets the items one part today the other part after somedays.

This is the meaning of <b>"delivery group"</b>

Reward points if soltuion helps.

hi

The Delivery Group The subitems of a BOM may be available at different times due to the lead

times in procurement (MM) and production (PP). You can use the delivery group to indicate that all

the subitems must be delivered together. This means that the subitems must be delivered as a group.

You indicate on the item category whether a delivery group applies.

Should the subitems be relevant for delivery at different times, the system will automatically

deliver these partial deliveries whenever they are available and the delivery due list is run. This

could be disastrous, however. If the customer has ordered a computer and we deliver a keyboard to

him one day followed by a monitor the next, he will not be too happy. Thus, if a delivery group is

assigned to the item category of the subitems, the system will determine the latest schedule line of

the items and confirm the delivery date according to that last schedule line.

For a delivery group to perform correctly, the following prerequisites must be met:

The delivery group can only contain one BOM.

It cannot contain any fixed quantities.

It cannot contain any items that have partial delivery indicator C (one-time delivery).

It cannot contain any partially delivered items.

It can only contain items that can be at least partially delivered.

It can only contain items that have a maximum of one requested schedule line. In the header item

category used for the BOM, ensure that you have indicated the relevant delivery groups,

HI

BOM delivery can be controlled at the item category level configuration.

Go to VOV7 - item category TAP - under bill of material - mark 'X' for "Create Delivery Group"

This will ensure that all the items in a BOM gets delivered to the customer at the same time without a delivery split.

I hope it will be helpful to u.

Hi,

If you want to combine a number of items in a sales document so that they are delivered together, you can create a delivery group.

If an item has more than one schedule line with confirmed quantities (for example, after an availability check) the system copies the date of the latest schedule line for this item and displays it on the delivery group overview screen.

When forming delivery groups, the system deletes the earlier schedule lines and copies their confirmed quantities into the latest schedule line.

If a complete delivery has not been requested, as soon as all the items for the bill of material are available, the system generates a correlated schedule line. This allows you to make a partial delivery on the first date on which all the items in the bill of material become available.

In other words, the first day on which all items in the bill of material are available, the system issues a confirmed quantity.

Hope this will help you, reward if so
