Upgrade of APO - Dependancies??

Former Member

Dear all,

We are currently using APO version 3.10, BW version 3.10 and R/3 version 4.6c. We are looking to upgrade all, but were considering APO and BW first. If we were to upgrade to SCM5.0 and SAP NetWeaver 7.1 are there any technical/application implications if we do not upgrade R/3 at the same time?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

I would think that depends on depends on how much interfacing you do with R3 and functionality that you are using in APO. I dont see any issue there though.....

but am sure there are more opoinions on the contrary based on real scenarios that poeople have tried....

Does SCM 5.0 and Netweaver 7.1 insist on a minimum level in the R3 version? am not sure... but 4.6 c should be good enough....

i remember seeing a thread on something similar here.... would suggest a search...

One more point I can think of CIF - Add On version.

hardware, Live Cache Version.

Are you interfacing with Seprate BW then version of it it should be compatiable to each other.

In SCM 5.0 you are having option of using old BW 3.X or BI 7.0 choose the option as per the Business requirement
