Hi all,
when I want to do a system copy from:
Windows 2000 32 bit
Oracle 9.2 32 bit
to:
Windows 2003 64 bit
Oracle 10.2 64 bit
Should I make a homogeneous or a heterogeneous copy?
Please explain why, so I can find out myself the next time.
Thanks,
Edwin
Hi Edwin,
a system copy is homogeneous when DB and OS stays the same independent of the release (valid for both DB and OS). Everything else is heterogeneous.
Therefore your copy is obviously homogeneous.

Hello Edwin,
This will be a Homogeneous system copy. Moving between OS or DB versions is not considered a heterogeneous copy. If you plan on using a db specific method you should take a look at note 940811 whihc provides some usefull information.
