how to improve the performance of my R/3 system

Hi all,

I have installed sap 4.7c in my pc. it is working fine for 2 or 3 weeks.

but slowly it is taking more time when i run any standard transaction

or when iam saving any data. what can be the reason for it?...

i dont think there is a problem with the system conifiguration?..

as it is same configuration when SAP was installed and now also. is any

temporary files it is going to create?... can any one tell me the solution for

it?...

Did you run SGEN after the installation?

Do you have enough resources in your PC?

Hi cnu,

As the system is sitting in your PC i pressume is a test environment so i'll start by running SGEN using "generate all objects...."

Also checj st02 and st03n for excesive swaps or long processing times...

Hi,

In addition to that , keep an eye in Work process overview - SM50...Check if work process is going in to PRIV mode.Also check if any workprocess is having Sequential read for long time.Then you need to concentrate on programs using SQL trace.

Performance tunning is a broad topic in which we need to first Zero in on the problem area. For this , analysis to be done on H/W , Configuration(Parameter settings),Memory & Programs.
