Hi,

I would like to know the if procedure for upgrading the kernel of release 700 is same as upgrading other release like 640. I have upgraded the kernel release 620 and 640.

Just want to know if any extras steps have to be followed for upgradation of 700. OS is windows 2003 with oracle database.

Also, I have a query that can we upgrade a kernel from 640 to 700 directly by overwriting the kernel of 700 over 640 or not. If not please let me how can I upgrade from 640 to 700.

Waiting for some nice replies....Thanks all in advance.

Regards

Sharath

The JSPM has the following features:

- Shares common GUI with SAPinst and SAPJup

- Automatically detects and offers you only components that can upgrade deployed components

- Shows only necessary information. Shows additional details at your request.

• Deployed Component Overview

- Displays support package level information

• Support Package Level Administration

- Allows definition of dependencies between versions of software components

- Checks whether a new software component version may correctly upgrade an existing software component version

• Development Component Level Administration

- Checks deployment dependencies between development components

• Update of Kernel Binaries, Software Deployment Manager (SDM), and JSPM

• Deployment

- Allows you to apply a support package stack

- Allows you to apply single support packages

- Allows you to deploy third-party software components and SAP software components that are not part of an SAP usage type

- Informs you if restarting of the J2EE Engine is necessary during the deployment process

- Monitors and logs the deployment process

- Allows you to restart the deployment of support packages.
