how to check memory utilization ??

One of the server has 3 Instances. Would anyone know how to check the memory

utilization of each server. I am aware ST03 and ST06 gives some information, but what exactly should I be looking at to analyze memory utilization.

Hi Praveen,

You can use ST06 if you want to know the phisical memory usage

In ST06 you can see the total of memory and phisical fee memory.

And if you want to know the memory utilization for each instance, than you can use ST02, or use OS command sappfpar check pf=<instance profile name>

Hi Praveen,

You can check with ST02, there you will find all the buffers(use F1 key to find out the exact details). Go to SAP Memory area there you can find current avilable, used stats.

Hi Praveen,

There are several ways to look at memory utilization, it mostly depends on what you are looking for. From the OS level, ST06 on each host (application server) will give you the picture when you are looking at it from the OS level. It gives you the total physical memory available and memory free status.

To look at it from SAP application level, ST02 on each application server will give you the memory used from SAP application end. Look at the extended memory values, max used and total configured.

You all need to look at ST04, this gives you the database memory structures configured. If the DB is oracle, you need to take into consideration the SGA sizing and the additional overhead for the server and user sessions.
