Hi,

It is not advicable to change the configuration settings in the live system, it can lead to a global impact. If it is a minor changes and you are very much confident that it will not affect anything, you can go ahead.

Better you change it in the development system, transport the request into the test sytem with the help of basis, test it there, then it can be transported to live.

Each company will have it's own standards to do this.

Hi Vamsi,

You can make minor changes to the production system directly. In our case we have done it.But one needs to have a

emergency user id for it.And once you log on with this emergency user your teamlead will get notification about which

transcation code you are using and everythg you do is recorded. Once he gives a go ahead thn you can proceed with the same.

Hi

You should not do changes, in Production system. It might get effected some other ways.

Its advisable to do changes in DEVELOPMENT Server, then Test the changes in testing server and Transport (SE10) into PRODUCTION Server. After transport Release that Changes in to production, to activate the changes in production.

Thanks............

Dear krishna vamshi,

I am afraid but there is nothing like Minor Configuration settings because it is very difficult for an individual to understand the total business process of a company. So a minor change in the Configuration settings in Production server might have an impact difficult to measure

So the best way is to do the changes in development server and then send it across to higher servers so that during testing in different stages the impact can be studied.

Hi..

No you should not do direct config changes in Live Production. It might lead to certain impacts..

Generally you can make changes in devp...and then BASIS team transports the same to production..

REWARD IF U FINDS THIS AS USEFUL....
