Dear Experts,

We are using SAP on Red hat linux and oracle, we have development and production server, both the server have 2 ip addresses,( we have VLAN concept)

where in one ip is for the internal LAN and another is for external vpn connected users, in the host file of the OS we have specified only 1 (internal ip address)

so we are getting the errors every minute in the production server and the application server as follows:

-

NiConnect Unsuccessful, Return Code: -0003

> Host: <hostname>

> Service: sapgw01

Communication error, CPIC return code 020, SAP return code 665

> CPI-C function: CMINIT(SAP)

-

Even the RFC communication is also not happening

Kindly help in this regard,

Thnx

Kishore

Can you also use the <b>NAMES</b> to ping since you use virtual hostnames...

Hi Kishore,

Is it not possible that something else may be trying to use the port 3301 sapgw01 uses ?

Check your /etc/services file and make sure all other references to 3301 are commented out except sapgw01.

Nelis
