We usually go for Graphical Mapping and in that we use User defined function as per the requirement.

We usually go for Graphical Mapping and in that we use User defined function as per the requirement. It all business requirement we can go for Java Mapping ,ABAP Mapping etc

Mostly Graphical Mapping is used..
along with that standard functions and ..
very few places we will use UDFs ( User Defined Functions )
But ,Unless you are perfect at UDFs, you can't be a good XI developer..
