Problem embeding interface view (Bug?)

Former Member

Hi,

i have this strange problem. When i try to embed the interface view of another DC into a viewset, i get stuck at the step where i have to choose the component instance. I have the collapsed tree there but cannot seem to expand it no matter wat i do (even though it shows a plus sign)

I have already added to public part, used DCs, used Components into the respective places.

I am using NWDS 7.0.10. Is this a bug?

Thx!

Hi,

Try to build the child DC once and try adding it later.

Thx fellows for ur replies but i know how to embed an interface view. Problem is i expand the tree where u select the child interface to embed.

I have simplified the situation and tested for using another component within the same DC and still i get the same problem.

I already tried a rebuild, but i still can't expand the tree....

Hi,

Try deploying the DC1 that you are using in DC2 and see if you find luck.

Does not even work for different componnets in the same DC.

I noticed tat the plugs tab in the interface view is always bugged. I can't see any entries in the inbound/outbound/params table even after i created some

Hi,

Assume you have 2 DC called DC1 and DC2 and you are using DC1 in DC2.

1. Right click on DC1 and select Development Component-->Build

2. Right click on DC2 and select Development Component-->Build

3. Now right click on your view set in DC2 and select embedd view>Embedd interface view of a component>Next>Add>Browse-->Select component of DC1.

4. Now from the hierarch select the interface view of DC1.

Follow these steps and I tried on the same version of NWDS and was successful.

Solved. Its a bug with the studio. Have to use the keyboard's arrow buttons to expand the tree. Clicking on the + sign with the mouse won't work

HI

You have two components CompA,CompB

1) Create "Used Webdynpro Component" in CompA

1.a) Add "Used Component"

1.b)Specify name

1.c)Browse the Used Web Dynpro Component..SELECT CompB from the list

-

2) Now "Open Navigation Modeler" of CompA's Window

2.a) Use "Embed Interface View of component instance"

2.b) Select CompBInterfaceview .. FINISH

-

3) Now you can link bothe the CompA and CompB views using Inbound and OutBound Plugs

3.a)OnClick action of CompA's default view button "wdThis.wdFirePlug<>;"

-

4) Now you will be to access the CompB's elements in CompA ,vice versa

-

Thanks and Regards
