Hi,
I wish to know in which cases the Java language is recommended for BI 7.0 (NW04s). More exactly I find some differences in writing source code for start routines in BI 7.0, using Abap OO but I don't have any idea where Java should be implemented: performances, new features in extracting data and so on.
Any suggestion and information will be well appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Giovanni
The BI-Java part is used mainly in the portal.
You don't create some "extraction jobs" in Java, the data modeling is done in ABAP (transaction RSA1).
What do you plan to develop?

Thanks for the reply.
My curiosity was about the understanding of the new facilities that can be developed in my new BW environment (Bi 7.0) using java.
From your reply it seems the main context for developing in java language is the Portal where I don't have skill. I hoped to find more contexts where it is possibile to implement facilities or utilities in java language.
Thanks,
Giovanni
