Hi experts,

We are facing problem in accessing the SAP help(from HELP> saplibrary) i m getting the message Browser starting and then error as follows:

couldnot find file <path>/frameset.chm.

Then i have copied the help data manually to a system and gave the path in the SR13 transaction. in some systems i am able to accesss the help but in some systems i m not getting the same.

Then i have gone through the note: 857216 and made the corretions in registry, it worked again in some systems not in all the systems.

Kindly suggest

Thanks & regards,

Kishore

You can use transaction SR13 in SAP to point the help call to

http://help.sap.com

On the tab "PlainHtmlHttp" enter

Variant = htmlhelpNT

Platform = WN32

Area = IWBHELP

Server name = help.sap.com

Path = saphelp_webas620sp25/helpdata (for example for the WAS620 help

Language = EN

Default = X

Depending if you have WIN95 or WIN98 you need two entries in that table for

Variant = htmlhelp95 or htmlhelp98

Platform = WN32_95 or WN32_98

are you by any chance using IE7? if this does not work, update SAPGUI with latest patch.

use help.sap.com as directed, this is the best optin:

1. you always get the latest update

2. you save disk space on your own servers

3. if you have multiple sites, and have slow links, you save bandwidth on your own network.

Hi Kishore,

If you are using other share folder in other server, then use like below:

Choose tab " PlainHtmlFile":

Variant: 620

Platform: WN32

Area: IWBHELP

Path:
<share name>\sapdocu\620\plainhtml\helpdata

and also click on the default button.

hopes this helps you

Anggana

The reason some systems are working and some not might be that the non-working systems still have the sapdoc??.ini (not sure of the exact name) file on their desktops. Have a look. If so, then simply rename the file and try again.

Also make sure that SR13 is clean. It sounds like you might have entered your help path under the wrong tab.

Hope this helps.
