Error Unarchiving Repository

Former Member

Hi,

I am using MDM 5.5 SP05 Patch2 and Oracle database.

I was unarchiving a repository and mdm server crashed at that instance.

Now after starting the server, when i again unarchive with same name it throws error and says unable to archive.

I dropped the tablespace and dba users of that repository, but still shows error when unarchiving.

The server log of mdm shows error "<i>Unarchive could not obtain target DBMS catalog list</i>".

Someone pls suggest.

Regards,

Chintan

Hi,

I tried reinstalling MDM but didn't help me.

I also dropped 2 tablespaces of that repository but even that didn't work.

Someone please help me on this.

Hi, I would try the following before I reinstall Oracle (!).

1. Drop the users that names ends with RepositoryName_Z000 and RepositoryName_M000 with the Cascade option.

2. Drop the tablespace that names ends with Z000, M000 and M000IX.

3. Go to the Schema called A2I_XCAT_DBS, find the table called A2I_Catalogs, delete the row that has your repository name or if you have only one repository in that database, I would drop the MDM Master user/schema A2I_XCAT_DBS and do everything from start as if its a new install.

4. Now try your unarchive of your repository.

Let me know if u have any issues doing the above steps.

Thanks

Job.

Thanks a lot Daniel !!!

This solved my problem. I didn't reinstall anything, but only deleted/dropped from Oracle.
