Goto Menu "System" --> Status --> Click on "Lens" ICON --> In front of SAP_APPL release is your version.

SAP version means checking the level or kernel you can check it by 3 ways ,2 way r/3 level and one from os level r/3 level procedure :
1,execute tcode sm51 you will find realease note click there you will find details.
2,from any log on screen got to systems/status/navigate key you will find details and from os level cmd prompt disp+work

Going to transaction SM51->select server->Release Notes. (Indepth details)
OR
SYSTEM->Status (General Details)

On any Screen:
Select the Menu SYSTEM -> STATUS
There you can see the SAP Version and the Component information.

Check like this from SAP menu:
System->status->component information
click on the component information button , you will know the installed components and versions.

HI,
Goto transaction sm51, and click (not double click) on the the Database
server and then click on release notes. there you will see the SAP R/3
kernel and patch level etc.
