Can i use same NW 2004s DVD for windows and AIX

I have NW2004s Installation DVDs which i use to install in Windows Server

Can i use the same dvds to use in IBM AIX Machine

Please check the Installation Master DVD / CD has necessary files for NT & AIX.

As well as check Database software for both OS.

I think rest all are same

Best way is refer CD Label or in installation master DVD/CD you will find the folder like WINNT , AIX etc . that means you can you this CD / DVD for installation on NT as well as AIX .

Or provide us CD/DVD number .

For example :

51032260_1 ->BS2005 SR2 Installation Master AIX 64bit

51032260_11 ->BS2005 SR2 Installation Master Windows Server on IA32 32bit

If you have CD/DVD number 51032260 you may get SAPinst for both OS .

Hi Balaji,

Yes you can except for the Database CD.

Other CD normally already contain all the OS or include all OS CD (Like Kernel)

If your have other installaiton that have the Database CD for your OS, than you can use that.

Hi Balaji,

I feel , SAP supplies the Software keeping in mind the the Customer Order and the OS/DB and you may not use the DVDs of Windows to install on AIX as the material Nos of the CDs/DVDs are different e.g.

Kernel DVD 51032891_1(AIX) 51032893_13(64 Bit WIn)

also watch out for 32 bit/64 bit.
