Hi all,
can any one please tell me How does unicode effect smartforms in ECC 6.0.

Hi Ruchika just check out the following link:
It will give you some idea regarding the importance of unicode in scripting .
Unicode is essential because it can accomodate a variety of characters from other languages as well otherwise you will get a # sign at most places,if you try to print a form output in any other language.It has got nothing to do with the Smartform actually but with the type of characters it can support for printing.

The Unicode effect does not effect Samrtforms directly but do effect the code inside the Smartforms for more details check the following link:

But again it DOES NOT effect Smartforms directly.
