Installation on Redhat LINUX AS 4 64bits

Hi all,

Hello friends,

I experience some problems when I try to install SAPGUI 6.40 on Redhat Linux AS 4. When I execute sapinst the following is displayed: <b>'guiengine: no GUI connected; waiting for a connection on host sapdev, port 21212 to continue with the installation</b>'

Also, when i try to install SAP Solution Manager 3.2 and execute sapinst the following error is displayed: "<b>bash: ./sapinst: cannot execute binary file</b>"

Thank you in advance.

Jesus,

What hardware are you using?

My situation is that I am using an X86 on 64bit.

I initially downloaded the IA64 instead of the X86 due to what I feel is a description problem.

Look at the label.asc file in the master DVD and make sure it matches the hardware you are using whether it is X86_64 or IA64. Hope this helps.

Jesus,

I'd like to tag my issue on to yours and hope we get a reply. I am also doing an installation of ERP 2004 on LINUX 64bit and receiving the same error when running sapinst. I anyone has a resolution please enlighten us.

Thanks,
