Missing Oracle after Oracle installation ......

Former Member

We are installing NWT0s with Oracle 102 on Win 2003 64bit (I386 platform).

First time it happen to us:

the RDBMS installation ended successfully and the latest Patchset also ended successfully, but the services are missing and the registry is not updated:

the Oracle key is mising into the HKEY LOCAL MACHINE item.

In this situation, the sapinst continue to says 'Oracle sw missing: install Oracle first'.

The Oracle sw is on the disks but as the oracle key is missing into the registry the Sapinst does not use it.

The "Oracle" package itself it's missing into the 'installing application' feature of Windows Control Panel.

Any advise ?

Hi,

Roberto

I think the problem is with the Oracle S/W

I don't know which SAP S/W you are installing

but we have to Install the Compatablity Oracle S/W to SAP S/W Version

and also the Patch

Hi,

This usually happends to wrong hardware & architecture of installation, 2 possibilities:

1. Oracle installed, but not installed correctly > check oracle

installation logs , uninstall and reinstall.

2. Wrong bit version of oracle installed > check RDBMS-CD

(LABEL.ASC) used for the installation.

Hope this helps,

George

update

.....despite the server in use is Intel XEON, the oracle installation works fine only if we run the sapserver.cmd from folder AMD64 and not from I386.....
