Hi,

We have successfully installed VC and it showed all the systems in portal initially but when we restarted the portal server, it stoppe showing the system list. There are no error messages.

We checked the system aliases, system conection and SSO parameters in portal. We also replaced default.htm file and added the url to trusted sites.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Did you ever find a solution to this?

Make sure you have deployed the corresponding addons delivered with the VC patch. sometimes restart of the portal server is required as well.

I found the answer to my particular problem in another posting for this same issue, and wanted to post it here in case it might help someone else. I had to add a line to the hosts file on the VC server with the fully qualified name of the EP6 server that I connected with to get the system list. I don't know why this makes such a big difference, especially since I still got the Portal login screen displayed in VC without the line in the hosts file. Anyway, the system list won't display without the hosts file line but does display with the hosts file line.

Hi,

I have recreated the system and system alias and also logged out and logged in back. But there is no change. I dont find any errors regarding this.

Actually the portal connection is successful....i dont have any errors in the connection.

Thanks,

Hi Madhuri,

What is the URL you use to connect to Portal? Do you specify along with domain name. If that is the case. Try connecting without that. Like http://<server>:50000 instead of http://<server>.<domain>:50000.

As well tell us on what portal version you are on and what is version and patch level of VC.

Hope this helps,

Thanks,

I see that this topic has been sitting for a while without a resolution, and I too am suddenly seeing this behavior after updating to SP12 and building a new VC SP5 server on Win2003. I followed all of the Win2003 notes for creating a VC server, so I don't know if the problem lies with SP12 or the new VC server. This didn't happen with SP11 and a Win2000 VC server. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Do you get any error while trying to connect to portal?

Just try to delete the alias, save the system details and again re-create the same system alias and save it.

Hi,

after restart, you need to logout and logon again.

after that, when you click "data" in VC, what appear ?
