Solution Manager Instance

Hi

I am installing a demo box - so not production, and I have no other SAP installs. I want to install and configure SAP BI and Portal and I need Solution Manager within my landscape. How can I install all these onto the same server?

I understand that I cannot install Solution Manager and EP in the same instance, so do I install Solution Manager first and then start a new install for BI and EP - this then becomes a difference instance?

If there is documentation on this then please point me to it, because the Master Guide and Installation Guides for these do not tell me?

Hello Al,

You are right you can't install both solman and EP on same instance.

There had be two different instance for both (EP and solman).You can start instalation

with anyone its not specific to start with solman first.

I have installed Solution Manager (and I will patch it soon). Do I just stop that instance and run SAPInst again, specifying a different SID?

Yes you have to give a different sid for that instance...since it's a different instance .

Yes!!!!

Stop everything all instance all services during installation of another instance.
