Hi all,

What is the difference in installation of R/3 4.7 in Windows 2000 Advanced Server and 2003 standard Edition.

can i use Oracle 8 with ora patches in windows 2003.

what is the best DB for SAP.

differences => not much...have a look at the respective installation guide

<b>no, you cannot install oracle 8i on windows 2003 server => it is not supported!</b>

best db? that depends on your needs...oracle is the one that's most used worldwide...maxdb might be the one with minimized administration effort...

My requirement is for IDES only, for learning purpose. And i want to install myself.

i'd rather <b>go for sapdb</b>...it has much less administration activities compared to oracle...the installation of the database will be included in the sap installation (oracle must be installed before you start with sap)...sapdb has a nice graphical database admin tool ggg ...

-> on 32bit win 2000 and win 2003 (sapdb 7.5 and 7.6) are supported

-> if you go for 64bit ONLY win 2003 (sapdb 7.5 and 7.6) is supported!!!
