Can someone explain me the difference of dropdownbyindex and dropdownbykey in the column class of alv-table with e. g. all tuples of the table sbook.
I know I choose dropdownbyindex if I know a value set at designtime and want to change the lead selection. And I have to chose dropdownbykey if I want to change the context and not the lead selection.
But what if I have a alv-table which represents all tuples of the table "sbook" and want to have a dropdown-box in the column "class".
when makes it sense to chose dropdown by index and by key?
when I want to change the values of a tuple (or row) in sbook I have to chose dropdownbykey, right?
So I can´t imagine a scenario when it makes sense to chose dropdownbyindex when I have an alv-table with all tuples of sbook beside I want to use the selection of a tuple of this table as a search criteria to fill another table with depending results? or am I wrong?
was my question too silly formulated?
