Hi

SAP Warehouse Management (SAP WM) is a component of SAP Logistics Execution system (SAP LES) and deals with the following tasks: Inventory management in randomly-organized and fixed-bin storage types; Processing all relevant movements and tasks in the warehouse, such as goods receipt, goods issue, movements within the warehouse; Inventory.

A storage location is maintained inside a plant from where we draw the stocks.

In order to have a material Warehouse managed we need to maintain the Warehouse Mgt 1 / Warehouse Mgt 2 views for the material master.

In case of normal picking we can directly draw the stocks from the required storage location but incase of WM we need to save the delivery first and create a transfer order with LT03. After selecting stock from the required bin, we need to confirm the trasnfer order with LT12. After all the picking activity is completed we can come delivery in VL02N do packing as the need may be and complete PGI.

a small example in our case we have a third party vendor doing all the WM activities for us and who is located in a different place where we create deliveries. So all such deliveries are picked up and sent to the third party through FTP and he does the picking, packing and PGI.

HI

SAP Logistics Execution System (SAP LES) is part of SAP's supply chain management solution which connects up production, procurement, storage, distribution, transportation, and sales. SAP LES consists of two applications: Transportation Management and Warehouse Management.

The Logistics Execution System (LES), a major component of the supply chain management (SCM) application from SAP, allows an adminstrator to manage the information and processes involved in all stages of the supply chain, from procuring raw materials to distributing finished products. LES connects SCM processes involved in procurement, order processing, production, storage, inventory management, shipping, and sales.

SAP's LES, an integral component of the company's mySAP SCM offerings, has two linked applications: a transportation management system and a warehouse management system. From a single administrative environment, users can:

  • Order supplies

  • Manage inventory and storage

  • Track production, customer orders, and product delivery

  • Manage human resources and business assets

  • Exchange information with suppliers and customers

  • Make applications available online

  • Integrate legacy and non-SAP applications
