Hi

Service orders come under the Customer Service Module ( also known as Service Management).

Yes you are correct. It is linked to PM module in many ways.In Plant maintenace, we raise PM Notifications and then create PM Orders against the notifications. Similarly, In CS, we raise CS Notifications and create CS orders.

The Difference between PM and CS is that in PM the services are rendered to internal customers and is done for company's own machineries and equipments which are installed inside the company premises. In CS, services are rendered to External Customers Equipments and machines which are installed at customer site and premises.

The document flow with T-codes

create Service Notification [IW51]

create Service Order [IW34]

confirm Service Order and do Goods movement [IW41]

Settlement of service orders [KO88]

Complete and close service orders [IW32]

For further details you may leave your mail; id

Thanks and regards

Hi,

The process flow can be... Service Notification ==> Service order ==> Order confirmation (Time & Labour) ==> Settlement.

Hi,

Service orders can be in the form of sales order RAS. But it can be with PM module also. If you are doing some service to your machine (equipment), which is managed by plant maintenence, the repair details, hours of labour, parts used etc.. will be entered in the service order.

the service process with PM orders is related at repairs.

SD order RAS (or RA) create a service order to repair the customer returned part number. Then you can invoice the repair service.
