SAPGUI: Show appserver name instead of host name?

Hi guys,

We have recently migrated our SAP system so that we have 3 application servers on the 1 host. In SAP GUI, when a user is loggod on to one of these application servers, the host name is shown in the bottom-right of the window. Is there any way to change this so that it shows the application server name instead?

Thanks,

Michael.

Hi Michael,

I don't think this is possible.... usually application servers are located in different boxes to provide redundancy

You can still see the name of the instance you're logged in via System -> Status -> Host data -> Server name

Juan

Thanks for your assistance - I knew about System --> Status but was hoping that there would be a setting somewhere that would replace it in the main screen.

Any other ideas guys?

Thanks,

Michael.

Hey Watson,

Let me clarify you one thing.

Application server is a physical host. In that you installed three INSTANCES.

Please note that there is a difference between Application server and Instance.

The bottom right hand corner in SAPGui will show the application server in which you logged in, if you want to know the instance in which you are in , then go to System -> Status

Thanks,

Giri
