Dear Gurus

hi to all,

we are 2 SD , 3HR , 3 pp , 1 MM, 3fico - consultants on bech rght now for some time......

we would like to know from you how we can invest this time profiatbly ...in A GROUP. can we do some projects...or anything else which will include all the modules .

this reply can be used by all the benchmens in all companies.....

you can definitely capitalise from the group, try to transfer knowledge among the group members, you can share ur knowledge on sd to others similarly other people in the group will share the same , Doing this you can get much idea on the issues relating to inter modules .also you can share the new things coming up in each module

If a system is provided with internet you can also attend e-learning sessions which will be useful to update your knowledge

as u ppl are on bench.. the best way to utilize ur time is to share ur knowledge and the areas ur r gud in.. say for instance as 2 sd'ns are there they might be gud at sales flow.. but not as gud as in MM so MM ppl could help them out in understanding the senerios where actually mm and sd are integrated and what re the key areas of mm same in the cae of sd ppl can share there knowledge of sd specially in the areas of Sales order Flow, Pricing, sales documents bothe in prespective of End User and in the means of Configuration.. the same thing can be followed by the pp, fico, and hr ppl also..

for any functional consultant it is always gud to have idea of data flow or say business process senerios in the all the or as many areas of the sap.. say PP is very important for any business senerios..same with fico. the most complicate part of any business senerio.. FICO ppl can explain the importants of different a/c maintenance, where exactly finance part is integrated with other ares of SD,MM..

speaking abt HR.. the most coolest ppl on business process.. they can explain the importance of the HR activities, Sales Call Plans.. what exactly are they, the importance of Sales Call Plans.. Expense Reports, Employee Management.. and so on.. its vry interesting..

here one thing can be remembered u ppl dont really have to learn the concept of configuration in deeper.. try to undersatand the functionality and the importance of the module in business practice.. the more u try to learn the and understand the functional process the easier it becomes for u all whn on project, it will also help u out in understanding the concepts of other modules in a easy way.. though u will be working on ur respective modules in the real time project it is always gud to understand the flow of business requirements..\

in order to learn better u all can start of with a mok project and try to configure a business senerio.. that way u can share the knowledge of each module in a more deeper context..

and i also suggest to to read some articles of some of the business senerios followed by the businesses in the real worl.. search on web for business related to Service based, Automotive, Manufacturing, 3rd Party Logistics & 4th Party Logistics - the importance of these kind of logistics.. that would help u out in learning the subject in a more easier way.. also do concentrate on how business specifications are prepared.. wht all things or say rules followed while preparing business specifications..

and also do search on the forum for some of the topics i mentioned.. can get useful info..

and remember there is forum for u all at all times so can easily clarify ur doubts as and when u have while working on the mok projct

First of all try to focus them on new dimensional products like SAP B1, CRM,SCM Up gradation and once they are confident on these You can focus their skills and place them on support,enhancement,upgradition or implementation projects after through analysis Either You can sell your resource on C2C basis or can use them for your In house team.

Hi,

Company will definetly be benifited by this ,if youare aware of the cross functional knowledge you can easily sort out the issues in much lesser time ,some times it so happens issue will be related to some other(ex FI) but still SD guys will be looking into that and making changes in other place and thus complicating the scenario.

From the personal point of view you will be given the first preference if you are aware of the core modules in detail .You will also gain so much of confidence by utilising the time like mentioned above.
