updates v1,v2,v3

Hi all

what are the v1.v2 v3 updates,critical, non critical what is their necessity,and how they work with the database in updating...thanks in advance

Hi Balaji,

V1 updates contain the critical changes with control functions , they involve business transactions such as changes to material stock etc. V2 update are usually of statistical nature and have a lower priority.So V1 is handled with a higher priority than V2 updates.There are collective runs for frequently used function modules , these are called V3 updates . V1 and V2 are distributed to UPD and UPD2 workprocess .V3 is not performed in a update workprocess istead it is performed in a batch job.
